I am wrong every once in a while. I am also a big enough man to admit when my wrongness has reared it's head. So, here's me admitting I was wrong.
A week ago I stated that I thought that Hillary would win the Dem nomination due to some backroom dealings/handjobs with cigar-smoking power-mongers. Well, her dealings/handjobs were either below par or they didn't happen because, much to my surprise, she lost. It looks like the powers-that-be went ahead and made Obamama their man for the upcoming national election.
The prez election should be O's to lose. McCain is old, grumpy and hell bent on finishing the clusterfuck in the middle east. The people don't want that. So, rich folks, racists, and the uneducated will be voting for Big Mac. Which is pretty much the entire south. The rest will vote for O....unless he fucks up, big time.
Anyway, I was admitting my wrongness. I thought Hillary would slide through with some serious shadyness going on. But, it didn't happen. My faith in my government is now restored!!! (Note the sarcasm there).
Eating crow.

Bo Diddley dead at 79. That just sucks.
*This is a pretty cool site for some artwork. They let you steal backgrounds, too. Cool deal.
Wherever I have lived in the past, I have always held a secret. A secret that would, if exposed, would set me up for ridicule and embarassment. That secret is this: I am a Tampa Bay Devil Rays fan.
No longer will I hold in my love for the Rays. I will wear my Rays gear proudly and walk through the streets of Knoxville. I will chime in during discussions about baseball at work with "Carl Crawford is the best baserunner in baseball right now" or "Troy Percival has really helped the pitching staff turn a corner" or "Yes, Evan Longoria was worth the money". If you don't get what I'm talking about then, well, you aren't a Tampa fan.
I couldn't make it to the very first opening day game the Devil Rays ever played. Back then they still were the DEVIL Rays. Now, it's just the Rays. Blah. But, I did make it to the Trop to watch the second game of their franchise. So, I've been a fan throughout the shit years. I have suffered through Jose Canseco, Wade Boggs and Lou Piniella. I have watched Josh Hamilton flame out in a blaze of (crack smoke) glory (thankfully he has turned his life around). I have watched the Rays patiently draft early first round choices that will help them in the future...usually blue chip studs. Well, the future is now.
The Rays are playing great baseball and look like they can stick around to make some noise. No team wants to come play at the Trop anymore. It used to be another home series for the likes of Boston and the Yanks. Now, it's not an easy series any longer, Teams will have to battle these young Rays for wins. I love this about the team. I believe in an earlier post on here (or maybe not) I said that the Rays are scrappy. I take back that statement....the Rays are talented, not scrappy.
Can't wait to get back to the Trop and catch a game. Maybe I'll sit in the beach. Or maybe, just maybe, I'll shell out the bucks for good seats. That'll be a first for me.
Go Rays.
